Vegeta's story:

Vegeta

Prince Vegeta is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball manga, written and illustrated by its creator Akira Toriyama. Vegeta makes his debut appearance at the end of Dragon Ball volume 17 of the manga as a primary antagonist; or Dragon Ball Z, episode 6 of the anime adaptation. Vegeta's character drastically changes as the series continues, developing from a primary antagonist, to an anti hero and eventually to a major protagonist by the end of the series. Vegeta's character is continued into the anime-only series Dragon Ball GT, and then making a cameo appearance in a self parody manga of Toriyama's called Neko Majin Z.
Following the tradition of the Saiyan characters in the series to be named for vegetables, Vegeta's name, being from the Saiyan royal family, is an obvious pun on the word vegetable itself.

Vegeta is introduced in the series as an arrogant prince of the Saiyans, a fictional warrior race from the planet Vegeta. At his introduction, Vegeta can be seen to have a fierce desire for immortality and galactic rule; however, Vegeta's plans are quickly thwarted by the series' main protagonist named Son Goku, who is also Saiyan. Because of Vegeta's overwhelming pride and ego, being defeated by someone whom he had considered physically inferior drastically transforms his character into a jealous and vengeful anti-hero. By the end of the series, Vegeta's bitter rivalry with Goku softens when he comes to respect Goku as an ally and even a friend.

Vegeta's priorities can be seen to gradually change as the series progresses, and his rivalry with Goku is seen to be fueled by Goku's ability to stay ahead of Vegeta in power. As the series continues, Vegeta developes into anti-hero instead of a villain.

When Vegeta finds a home on Earth, he is pursued romantically by the character Bulma, and is seen to start a family with her. But Vegeta prioritizes his rivalry with Goku over his relationship with his new family, however later settles down when he realizes that he would never defeat Goku.

Vegeta is an elite member of a fictional race of extraterrestrials called the Saiyans. Vegeta was the son of the Saiyan king also named Vegeta. Before Vegeta's birth, the Saiyans had fallen under the rule of the galactic overlord named Freeza, and upon his birth, Vegeta was taken by Freeza as "insurance" for Freeza that the king would remain loyal to him. After several years in Freeza's captivity, the king attempted to rescue his son, however was killed by Freeza in the attempt. The Saiyan home world is destroyed soon after by Freeza, however, Freeza elaborated that it was destroyed by an asteroid. Vegeta remained under Freeza's command for years until he defied Freeza and traveled to Earth in an attempt to gain immortality and galactic rule from using the Dragon Balls. Vegeta's plan was thwarted by a mislead Saiyan named Kakarotto (Goku's birth name), and Vegeta is forced to retreat back to Freeza. Freeza had learned of the Dragon Balls and travels to another planet called Namek in order to use theirs for the same reason that Vegeta wanted to. During this time, Vegeta learns the truth that Freeza had exterminated the Saiyans in fear of their growing power.[1] Vegeta is killed by Freeza during his resistance, and Goku emerges as the legendary Saiyan warrior called a Super Saiyan, and defeats Freeza.

Goku's story:

Goku was born on the Planet Vegeta and sent to Earth moments before the planet ejaculated. After he arrived on Earth, Goku lost his memory and was found by an old man named Son Gohan, who beat him furiously with a paper towel soaked in gasoline extracts. As the series progressed, we witness many adventures and conflicts that occur to Goku and his friends. They found some balls in a sack and rubbed them until a magical dragon arose from the sack, swaying back and forth demanding, something in some non-existent language.

An entire volume focused on the growth and the loss of his numerous tails, as the following volumes mention hair, hairs and whatever.

Gohan's story:

Son Gohan, is a fictional character created by Akira Toriyama, written and illustrated for his Dragon Ball manga, originally published by Shueisha and Bird Studio in 1989. Gohan makes his debut appearance in volume #17, or the premier episode of its animated adaptation, Dragon Ball Z. In the series, Gohan is the first son of the primary protagonist, Son Goku, and his wife, the Ox princess named Chichi. Gohan was the first Saiyan/Human hybrid in the series, and as a result, has unusual physical abilities. Gohan was named after Goku's adoptive grandfather, and is a pun on the Japanese word for cooked rice or meal.

Gohan's appearance changes dramatically throughout the series, with his beginning as a child and concluding when fully grown. As opposed to full-blooded Saiyans, whose hair does not grow throughout their lives, Gohan's is drawn at varying lengths, and changes markedly in style. Initially, he's illustrated garbed in a kimono-like surcoat, with the four-star Dragon Ball fitted on top of his hat. Normally thereafter, he's drawn with a gi modeled after his mentor's, Piccolo (likewise having his obi recolored from red to blue in Toei's animated adaptation of the Cell Games tournament), or his father's (such as during his training for the Saiyans or when fighting Majin Buu), and on occasion he is portrayed in battle armor worn by Freeza's henchmen. In conceptualizing Gohan's character as a teenager, Toriyama originally included glasses or a jacket to his apparel, and commonly, his hair was not spiked up as seen in the final design.

Due to his mixed heritage, Gohan's character exhibits unusual abilities, possessing power surpassing that of a Saiyan. As a child, Gohan is depicted with a seemingly bottomless dormant power, which at first only revealed itself when he experienced fierce rage. Like pure Saiyans, Gohan was born with a monkey tail (Gohan is the only Saiyan/Human hybrid shown to have grown a tail). This allowed him to transform into the Oozaru, a Saiyan great ape. However, during his fight with Vegeta, Gohan's tail is removed permanately, and he therefore loses this transformation. On Namek, Saichoro helped unlock a portion of his untapped potential, unable to bring out the fullest of his tremendous latent abilities. In later chapters, as he got older, Gohan's training expanded his use to a larger portion of this power, ultimately giving him access to the legendary Saiyan-state called the Super Saiyan, as well as becoming the first to achieve the ascended state, Super Saiyan 2. During the final story arc of the series, the Rou Dai Kaioshin helped bring out Gohan's potential, enabling him to utilize power beyond his natural limits, rendering him more powerful than Buu. The second Daizenshuu book labels him in this state as Ultimate Gohan .

Trunks's Story:
Fourteen years after the events of the Frieza saga, the Earth is in ruins, terrorized by a pair of Artificial Humans. Goku is long dead of a heart disease and shortly after, Piccolo, Vegeta, Krillin, and the other Z fighters were killed when the Artificial Humans first arrived. Now the only surviving Z fighter is Gohan, who trains Vegeta's now 13 year-old son, Trunks. Gohan seems to be strong enough now to take on one Android, but against both, he still has trouble, and when Trunks always gets in the way, it doesn't get any easier. Finally, Gohan sustains serious injury, and not long after he's healed, he takes on both Androids again. Gohan is killed in battle, finally giving Trunks the necessary fuel to reach Super Saiyan. This is the story of the future.....that never was.

Goten's story and other things:
Meaning: (Kanji) Grandson, Enlightenment, Sky. Goten's name has almost the same meaning as Gokuu's, but last symbol in Gokuu's name means 'air' or 'space' rather than sky.
Age: Buu Saga: 7
End of DBZ: 17
Beginning of GT: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Half Saiyajin, half human.
Relations: Goku (father),
Chi-Chi (mother),
Gohan (older brother),
Gyuu Mayo (Grandfather),
Bardock (Grandfather),
Pan (Niece)
Videl (Sister in law)
Mr Satan (brother's father in law)
Abilities: Kamehameha: Ki energy that is concentrated into a blast. Goten usually mis-pronounces it as "Kamekameha".
Fusion: A dance performed by Goten and Trunks that allows the two to 'fuse' into a single, more powerful being called Gotenks.
Flying (Bukujutsu): Levitation by use of ki control.
Totsugekki: Goten's signature move. It involves him flying high into the air, then suddenly diving head-first towards his opponent.
Training mentors: Chi-Chi,
Gohan,
Gokuu,
Piccolo
Interesting: Goten was able to go Super Saiyajin without much training (probably because nobody told him it was supposed to be difficult). If Goten were more interested in training than getting a girlfriend, I think he could easily be stronger than Goku.
Little-Known Fact: Goten either has very good eyesight or is super-observant. He tends to be good at spotting people he's seen before, or anything out of place. Watch for it, it's true.
Appearences: DBZ Buu saga -> Dragonball GT
Movies 10, 11, 12 and 13
Background: Goten was born a few months after the Cell games, and was raised by Chi-Chi and Gohan. He's best friends with Trunks, and if the small amount of animation at the end of Movie 11's anything to go by, they'd known each other since they were toddlers.
Unlike Gohan, Goten was taught to fight at a fairly early age by Chi-Chi, and while playing with Trunks learnt how to go Super Saiyajin.
Goten acts very much like a young Gokuu; he loves food, he loves fighting, is cute and innocent, and generally air-headed (though not quite as bad as Gokuu was, having not lived alone in a shack in the middle of nowhere for most of his life). He's good with animals, but perhaps hasn't got the idea with the big dinosaurs... uh yeah
